Alistair Siddons - profile

Alistair Siddons is a London-based writer, editor and journalist.

Early in his career, he spent five years working for an international copper refining group.

In 2002, he discovered that a copper smelter he had once worked for in the United States had since become a convicted corporate felon.  The company had declared itself bankrupt in 2001.

In 2004, Alistair Siddons began to research what was still a nationally and internationally obscure criminal case.

His aim was to raise the profile of Chemetco's history of environmental wrongdoing and so ensure that the criminal case contributed something to the public understanding of corporate behaviour.

Alistair launched a web site - the trip flare - to bring stories from Chemetco's past to the attention of the widest possible audience.

Among Alistair's broader interests is the relationship between institutions, companies, the public and trust.
